For everyone at Ponsse, responsibility means a shared set of strong values that emphasise honesty, respecting people, and aiming for the best possible result for the environment. Together with our customers and partners, we have the enthusiasm, skill, and willpower for continuous improvement.
The Ponsse values – We truly care; We work for customers; We are honest; and We are open for renewal– have steered us throughout our history to respect people and cooperation. Machine entrepreneur Einari Vidgrén founded our family-owned company in 1970 in Vieremä where our production and headquarters have been located to this day. We have grown as part of a tight-knit community, which has naturally helped us understand our social, economic, and environmental impacts.
Our roots are deep in the forest, and our technology makes sustainable forestry possible. Harvesting with respect to the environment helps commercial forests regenerate and produces valuable raw material for long-lasting and high-quality wood products. Our responsibility reporting analyses our operations from the perspective of the environment, social responsibility, and good governance.
We have four themes and objectives for responsibility:
- PEOPLE – We improve the wellbeing of our people
- SOLUTIONS – We innovate sustainable solutions that respect nature
- OPERATIONS – We develop our operations while respecting nature
- COMMUNITY – We are a reliable partner who values community
